Glory of China and absolute pride of its government, the Olympic Center hosted the Olympic Games of 2008. Beijing has experienced radical changes to welcome visitors from all over the world during the event. You will find the famous «Bird Nest», the stadium, but also the Olympic Swimming-Pool whose «bubbles» change colors at night. If you’re not a sports fan, don’t worry, the place is full of futuristic architectural treasures and is always an animated place with plenty of people during the day, street musicians and sellers (of course!).
If you have a foreigner face, also expect to pose with locals for pictures. If you’re not really comfortable with sudden fame, I wouldn’t recommend the place. The place is gigantic and you can walk around for hours. To visit the buildings, you have to pay an entrance fee. Rumor says you can swim in the Olympic swimming pool if you pay the price…
